THE RELATIONSHIP OF RENIN-ANGIOTENSIN SYSTEM TO ALDOSTERONE

Abstract
Since Goldblatt, Page and their collaborators presented the Renin-angiotensin system as a definite mechanism in the pathogenesis in some case of hypertension in 1934. Lots of experimental and clinical studies were reported with or without agreement but this remains a problem requiring further investigation.
In the meanwhile Conn (1934) described another hypertension associated with aldosterone producing tumor of the adrenal cortex. Those added stimulus to work harder in this area. Among the results of past 10 years of work were the demonstration of the specific relationship of Renin-angiotensin system to aldosterone and the relationship of aldosterone to human ¢¥hypertensive disease or others. Now they established a new procedures for isolation and determination of aldosterone and blood angiotensin and renin activate by radioimmunologically.
The intense interest at the present time in the relationship of Renin-angiotensin and aldosterone led me to make a review the recent literature in this paper which might be helpful to those who are moved to explore the subject further.
